We join as allies with others in support of equitable and just treatment of all people and of a non-exploitive, sustainable relationship with our planet. Working to end racial oppression and oppression of indigenous peoples in America is an essential step. As Emma Lazarus, a nineteenth-century American Jewish poet wrote: “Until we are all free, we are none of us free.” Those words are inscribed on the Statue of Liberty’s pedestal. Working for freedom of ALL people at home and abroad is important.
